The Story

Harkinson Investment Corporation (HIC) owns, manages, and leases more than 2 million square feet of commercial property in North Texas. Over the past 30 years we have completed more than 50 acquisitions valued in excess of $500 million.

HIC is vertically integrated across most sectors of CRE. Its brokerage and property management company Harkinson Dewan Commercial has 200 tenants in its portfolio and a leasing staff with a combined 55 years of experience. Harkinson Development is engaged in more than 200 acres of greenfield development projects.

Jeff Harkinson

President

Jeff has purchased or developed 4.3 MM square feet of office, medical, retail, and industrial space. For more than 30 years, he has never missed a monthly mortgage payment or failed to return less than 100% of investors’ equity.

​

Jeff started his career in city management, working for the managers of Dallas and Mesquite and as Director of Regional Services with the North Central Texas Council of Governments. Ten years later, he entered the commercial real estate sector as a leasing and property sales broker before founding his own brokerage firm and later expanding into property acquisitions and management with the creation, in 1991, of Harkinson Investment Corporation.

Jeff is interested in environmental preservation, biodiversity and social justice issues. He serves on the board of Fidelity Bank of Texas and the Hill Country Alliance.

Josh Harkinson

Executive Vice-President

Josh guides the strategic vision for the Harkinson group of companies and is responsible for unlocking the benefits of business integration across the portfolio. He also handles investor & public relations, deal origination, and special projects.

​

Josh spent more than 15 years as a San Francisco- and Houston-based  journalist, writing for national magazines about political and environmental issues. In 2017, he moved to India with his family and founded two successful startups in the education and beverage sectors.

​

An avid backpacker, rock climber, and road biker, Josh enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two children. He splits his time between Dallas and the San Francisco Bay Area.
